EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques, which are gentle yet powerful techniques that involve tapping on pressure points around the upper body and face. Commonly referred to as “tapping," EFT combines psychotherapies, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Exposure Therapy, and Somatic Therapy by using self-applied acupressure to help release physical, emotional, and psychological blocks.
EFT is also referred to as “psychological acupressure” because these tapping points are the same meridians in traditional acupuncture. The firm but gentle tapping stimulates the meridians to release ‘blocked energy’ and to restore balance in the energy system. More common than not, people store unresolved emotions in their bodies and tapping on the meridians can aid to release unresolved emotions and reprogram the subconscious mind.
